Same thing? Surely same thing would be 1km equals 1 mile? As opposed to 1.61 (ish) km equalling 1 mile? :geek:

Maybe I'm just a pedantic grumpy old bastard? ;)

Speedo cable still broken, but that won't be any different in the next following weeks/months.

I'm planning an engine swap for this car. What I want to do, is put the original 35HP engine back in the car.
The gearbox wich is now in the car, a 80's disc-brake box, will remain in the car, but I'm going to have the internal parts from the Ami6 drum brake-gearbox put in the disc-gearbox housing.
The gearbox part will be done by someone who rebuild more gearboxes than me, so I'll hope it will be done right.

After this work, the speedo should also work properly.. Untill then I'll use the sat-nav to see how slow I'm going down the roads :)

All this should have been done before the Worldmeeting in Salbris, so time enough to get it done..

Took the engine out today.. Started at 5:30 and finished at 9..
All alone, and thats hard work for a small guy like me.. With the help of some towing rope and a jack I managed to get the engine out.
Now resting on the sofa, with a painfull back.

Tomorrow I'll take the gearbox out and bring that to a kit-car seller who's gonna put the Ami 6 Break gears in the disc-box. So I'll have the proper gears, with the brakes I like the most.

After that the original 35hp engine will also go back in the car. but for that i'll rent an engine hoist orso, this is killing my back :(

Don't like beans and never will like them ;)

The car is parked under a tree, but that is too high to be usefull.. All is done on a the parkingplace in front of our appartment, and no garage i can use.. A well, the weather is good :)

Gearbox is out, and is now in a garage, waiting to be modified/changed.

Will be ready in two weeks, main plan is to drive the Ami again in the end of the month.
First I need to get the original eginge here so give it a good service :)

Little delay on the gearbox, but it's ready. Collecting it tomorrow, so hope to drive the car again somewere next week.

Need to borrow a enginehoist, so I can put the engine and gearbox in already bolted together. There is just too little space tu use a spanner for tightening the lower bolts wich hold the gearbox to the engine because of the protectionplate on the chassis.
