Ratchet straps?

D'oh!! Yeah, Ratchet straps ;)

I guess it's legal, have never thought about it, though if you bring it to the attention of the authorities, then this B/oody British government will outlaw it with glee and hope to make more money doing drivers, to spend on illegal wars and propping up failed banks :x , So...Shhhhh!

A frames are a grey area along with towing d*llies etc.

I may be wrong but I believe that if a car is capable of being driven under its own power then to be towed on an A frame it has to be taxed and tested etc. If you were to remove the engine from the same car-it would be classed as a trailer a it wouldn't be drivable therefore wouldn't have to be taxed and so on. HTH. :ugeek:

Ive borrowed and used an A frame several times.

I live near the local area traffic police so took it round to them first to show them.

They actaully wernt sure off the top of their heads.

Then they decided it legally made the vehicle being towed a trailer, so as long as it had a lighting board and number plate of the towing vehicle then it was fine.

However also need to conform to the weight ratios of the towing vehicle.

The weird thing is looking in rear view mirror and finding a 2CV behind you all the time (the worrying thing is if its suddenly not there !)

This of course is just what the guys in the local plod said in England..I wasnt convinced that they were convinced..you international folk might have other laws...(including Wales !!....Hi Mate "Noswaith daa")

Will Pug 205 front seats fit? I've got a MINT pair here in my old GRD you can have, in a sort of brown tweedy material, they are literally like brand-new. If you want me to have a measure-up (they are pretty narrow) give us a shout.

Cheers Bri, I'm almost certain that they would as I *hink* they've got the same mountings on them as BX.

That said, I've fitted my spare BX seats in it now so sorted ta. I'd stick 'em up in the loft if I were you ready for when you get one. ;)

It was looking promising, welding done, new battery, new wiper blades and 4 new tyres. All it had to do was get to the MOT station and then it was playtime.

Unfortunateley though, every time I switch the ignition on it blows the fuse for fuel gauge, wipers, indicators, charge circuit etc meaning that my planned trip in her to work today can't happen.

Anybody any ideas? I got bored in the end last night, gave up and changed the gearbox in the racer instead!

Right, the problem was a dead short in the wiper motor so one hybrid wiper mechanism now fitted made from an old style Dyane mech with 2CV spindles (they wipe the A pillar too!) and hybrid Dyane/2CV wiper arms so fingers crossed.......................... 8-)
