 Re: Sudo Kubel
All the panels have been shaped around the framework and then welded in place. They have extra ribs in certain areas to stiffen it up but mostly the panels are like a drum. Once all the panels are fitted and the filler work is done i will then fit the final detail before painting. This will be to apply upvc strips, that will be bonded to the outside of the panels to replicate the original ribbed effect (see photo below). This will also stiffen up the body panels no end.

 Re: Sudo Kubel
This looks like the kind of project that could easily turn into a complete mess... But having seen Scar I'm confident that you'll do it justice, and I'm looking forward to following the progress.

Wouldn't it be easier to get a swaging machine/bead roller and roll the ribs directly into the panel? Fun project BTW, I like it.

Perhaps that's not too difficult if you know what you're doing, but it could very easily go all wobbly and look a bit shit otherwise, check out my home made floor panels if you don't believe me.

 Re: Sudo Kubel
If nor a swaging machine or bead roller, you could easily make a tool for a brake press which would work perfectly on flat panels.

Just realised I know only marginally more than f***all about bodywork, so I will google "swaging machine", "bread roller" and "brake press" when I get home.

 Re: Sudo Kubel
Hello again. Yeah i did think of a pressing type tool but every panel has a different ammount of pressings and it would be a nightmare to get them in the right place. How im doing it makes the whole process a lot simpler and way way quicker (i hope, lol). Anyway, doen a bit more yesterday and finsished the bonnet all bar the grinding and filler work etc. Next is the windscreen frame and then onto the rear end .
