On a good day, I can see Europe from down the road... Does that count?

I'm going to go against stereotype, and give a _sensible_ answer...

It's because ESPOG is an umbrella of individual SPOGalikes from different countries & clubs. It's only role is to coordinate and to stop individual countries/clubs from duplicating the effort of others, helping to prevent three different identical widgets being developed simultaneously.

The Sainted Mr Eden sells parts on behalf of one of those individual clubs/countries. Hence, he's a SPOGman not an ESPOGman.

Well, Canterbury. I suppose "Down the road" is because we've mates that live above the port in Dover (and I mean above it, all you can hear are the bloody announcements!!).
