Anyone have any experience with these tyres? http://www.the2cvshop.co.uk/product/120 ... assis-tyre They're a fairly recent introduction, made in China with a good ressemblance to the original Michelin X tread. I've had a look at the UTAC test certificate which basically just seems to check the markings and dimensions and subject them to a load test. I was all set to get some Toyos but I quite fancy sticking with 125 tyres. John |

at the risk of starting another fight thread id stick with Toyos personally, a decent tyre from a good manufacturer. Without having a go on them chineese copies you cant tell what the compound is like. MCC arent famed for their Value For Money if they are selling something cheap .... |

The fact that they're even cheaper than the scarily gruesome "Wearwell" chinese teflon/concrete-blend Mich 125-clones, yet Cassis still sell the Wearwells scares me slightly, since it implies the Wearwells must be worth the extra money... Anyway, I thought it'd been illegal to sell tyres (other than run-out stock) without the noise/grip label for the last year...? |

That's why I was interesting in anyones opinion who had used them. The Toyos are a safer known option and will most likely be what I end up with. Maybe MCC are selling them as a loss leader to get them established? I notice there is no cheaper price for the club card holders as is usual with their stuff. The lack of any info on noise/grip did concern me as well but it's only an EU wide regulation, so doesn't apply to the French. |

Way i look at it Generally chinese stuff is cheap, but quality is bad Japanese stuff is less cheap, but quality is superior |

The Chinese make crap because that is what the West expects/asks for. The day the Chinese decide to change that the West is finished. Remember this... The nineteenth century was Britain's century, the twentieth century was America's century, we're now firmly in China's century and they will be increasingly calling the shots. |

The 2nd half of the century was a bipolar "cold war" between the USA and its allies and the Soviet Union and its allies (often with localised "hot wars" fought with, or between, proxies). The 21st century will see privatised wars between corporate-sponsored capitalist armies who seeking to make large amounts of money out of conflict (Central-African Republic, Congo, now) or to create new markets (eg Bush and Blair's war in Iraq).
