Do you think changing the colour effects its value? Guess a respray is a respray regardless of colour? What are your views? |

value not sure, but in spain its more about being able to sell at all. I´m sure a nice happy colour would sell quicker than a matt black or something for example. its marketing isnt it. |

I guess its down to personal choice of the buyer. Not doing mine to sell but like you say I don't want to go Matt black and struggle to sell should I ever want too. Thinking a BLUE..... |

Well, I can imagine that some people that are looking for a original 2cv can walk away from a 2cv with a strange colour (mat black, metallic, pearl effect, etc.). I also believe this kind of colours can effect the value. A resprayed 2cv in a period correct colour (maybe even with the right upholstery) could have a higher value in my eyes. The people who restored the car took time to choose a colour that fits the car. A 50's 2cv in rouge vallelunga would be wrong.. A 80's 2cv in rouge vallelunga too, but at least the colour is period correct... ![]() |

I agree that it depends on the colour/shade/paint type on whether it would affect the value. I know of two British registered Belgian market Specials from about 1988/89 which are factory painted black with a nice shine, and they look stunning. |
