Been told that the Spanish producer is bankrupt. Our stock is sold out. Alternative is Record or Monroe. Any shockies in the UK worth getting. Also been told that MOT in Belgium is failing Monroe as ''not suitable'' on A models. Any comments on this please?

Monroe is sh*t ... so, I believe that info about Belgium MOT.

Looks like I have to buy remaining stock of LIP shocks for my home cars ...

this is obviously a "bit of a" bodge  , but old lips get quite good again when you refill them with engine oil (used 15w40, quit hard for std suspension). So I think there will be a rising market for used lips 8-) ;)

You should all keep quiet about this. Roy will put up the price on his remaining stock!

Just checked ECAS website. Listing only Monroes. They did have Lipmesas at Harrogate.

I have Monroe on the front, Kayaba on the rear - suspension is soft, they work "the right way around" (more damping on rebound, I know how bad "reversed", non-2CV shocks can be because a friend of mine has those at the rear, it's unbelievably bad), at the polish MOT-equivalent damping is rated between 75 and 80% on the machine, which I've been told is better than most modern cars, so why are they considered so bad? Are LIP shocks actually so much better, and how?

I phoned our friends in the North yesterday lunchtime  - only to be told they have no stocks & that have phoned 'all over europe' & it's the same story. They only have Monroes in stock which they will do for the same price.

Roy knew about this well before it was here and has kept his last set for his own use!
