Post Vent thread
So after many minutes of swearing, grunting, liberal applications of wd-40 and one sliced finger, I've failed spectacularly to remove the headlight holder-thing on my acad AND managed to strip the head off of one of the bolts.

The reason i was trying to remove it was because the adjuster cable has snapped just where it goes into the housing, and I was investigating how to replace the bloody thing. Now I'm going to have to bugger about trying to remove a rusty-as-all-hell bolt shaft from soft plastic too...

/Vent...

sometimes with these cars you just have to admit defeat before you start and cut the fixing or risk further damage . I usually cut the nuts off the exhaust flange , cut the bolts on 2cv indicator housings, split the 36mm nuts on the spring can tubes etc etc often easier than spending half a day chewing the un obtanable to save 2p on a m5 bolt
