sounds like it could be Hollises "trip to the end of the known world"? but awaits proper link ;)

They dont take things too seriously but the car will be "used as Andre intended" Id rather see that than have it over restored and a stupid price tag hung on it

If anything he has helped the car... It was pretty shagged. He managed to get it up and running and complete a very hard task in less than 3 months. It would probably have just been scrapped if he hadn't have saved it

Here's the video of the journey. Since Richards Mum was diagnosed with, and passed away from Motor neurone disease he's taken to raising money for MNDA through various bizarre and adventurous schemes and trips with altogether unlikely 2cvs based vehicles. A couple of years ago, he and regular co-pilot Stu MacDonald piloted a stretched 2cv all the way to Turkey...

Here's the link to their just giving page: http://www.justgiving.com/2CVedgeofworld/

Whilst I've been involved with some of Richards race cars and I will happily accept the presentation and preparation isn't what I'd be proud of, there's no denying that what he's achieved, and their positive, happy-go-lucky attitude, with spades of good humour is a credit to the 2cv community.

sorry, i jumped in too soon :( i still reckon using a hammer to the underside of the steering wheel/columb was a bit over the top-
but perhaps thats the correct the way to remove it from the spline on the rack,?
just blugion the underside of the steering wheel with a hammer?
