Post Late night garage pics......Familiar sight ?
Late night pics, just finishing up and doing a little fire watch before final shutdown...(there was some grinding action, sparks etc...always like to leave it 20 mins before locking the doors and putting on the alarm....)

Generally, I love late-night working on my car... except when I wake up to discover that I've made some ridiculous decision based on over-tiredness or inhalation of solvents.

Quick (and oh-so-polite-though-nosy) question: what is this?

Well Spotted ! My other aircooled :)

All legal and on the road, but back in the garage to get stripped for paint....New interior, hood trim etc sitting behind me here in my home office :)

Now if the 2CV would only behave, I'll have time to get the Speedster finished.....

Is that a Chesil kit? What's it based on? A VW?

Actually came from Florida, (hence LHD), Florida>Hull>Scotland.....CMC, 1600cc, goes and handles surprisingly well for its humble underpinnings.

I bulit it up over a coulple of years and got it legal last summer, put on around 2k shakedown miles, (including a maiden 450mile trip, on a new engine, with no weather gear and a leaking fuel tank :)..... Fortunately the gods smiled on me and I had a beautiful run home in shirt sleeves as the sun went down ....I got to pretend I was in california...

That's the 'first line of defence' fire extinguisher, isn't it? ;)

If that fails, time to break out the real deal.
