It's a 2CV!

It's probably French built. Definitely not German though. Have a look at the etchings on the glass - if it says 'Covina' it will be portugese, if it says 'Saint Gobain' it will have been built in France. Of course the glass may have been changed somewhere down the years...

quickest is the glass, if its got more "St Gobain" glass then its probably French made

WHS!

You can tell by the door hinges too, if they're black they're from one factory, body colour they're from another. Where this post falls down is that I can't remember which is which...

Just checked my Sept 88 D*lly - glass is Covina and door hinges are body colour.

Guess this means a quality Portugese product then which means it's been somewhere I haven't :)

Yes, but Vallelunga was the only remaining 2cv factory after the French one closed in 1987.

Levallois Paris made their last 2CV on 29th. February 1988. Vallelunga is the colour of that last one. Portugal plant was in Malgualde. (Can't remember the correct spelling)
