 The World's Longest 2CV Convoy
Howdy All, I'm new on here, but a longstanding 2CV-er. I had an idea a few days ago that I'd like to run past everyone. How about someone organising The World's Longest 2CV Convoy? In order to make it official as the longest convoy, the Guiness Bok of records people would be invited along and the whole event would be publicised Worldwide, to make it THE event to attend. On the 2CVGB Forum the idea has been well received, but there is some question about where such an event could be held. I think the idea of a racing circuit is probably the best, as there'd be less problem with Big Brother and all His Rules getting in the way of everyone's good time. I'd imagine if the Convoy was to go ahead on a circuit, it should be close as possible to a ferry port or to the Tunnel, to encourage attendees from the Continent. The initial event might be extended to an organised tour of England, Wales and Scotland if this is thought to be something those from the Continent (or even further afield, hopefully) would like to participate in. The options are endless really and it could even be profitable for whomever decides to take up the organiser's mantle. This event could put 2CVs and their ability to connect people on the map forever and would undoubtedly do 2CV clubs everywhere a lot of good. So who's for the idea? And who thinks it's nuts and too much hassle? Anyone know how to put up a poll on here? I'm clueless about this kind of thing. Pete Johnston

Re: The World's Longest 2CV Convoy
Excellent idea. I would love to attend something like that. Would be a fun goal for a roadtrip.
Why not try and set a world record before or after a world meeting? And near it, like in France or Germany next year. Lot's of car's already on the road and "in the mood 4 fun". Personally I think a road sounds much better than a racetrack. Somewhere out of town, in the country side should be possible? Does there exist a world record for "car-convoy on public road?"
