what are the best methods to rust proof a car

could you also galvanise a 2cv body? or bit of it, i know it sounds strange but you could park it in the sea then and it will live!

Be aware though that once the shells are hot dipped galvanised they distort all over the place. I toyed with the idea of getting them to galvanise a 2CV shell a few years back. I went to Duck services to have a look. The shells are so ripply afterwards that I decided I simply couldn't live with something that cosmetically horrible.

A less brural altenative is to get the shell acid dipped which will take off all the paint, seam sealer and rust and then get it E coated once you've welded it up. I've just had a Volvo PV 544 shell done at SPL in Birmingham.
