Argentinian 4x4 sort of Mehari but not thing..
So, I didn't want to take the cool 2CV pics thread off topic so thought I'd start a new one. What is this? Does anyone know anything about it? If you look at his YouTube channel HERE starting from the oldest working forwards it's obvious it starts off as a 4x2 and gets converted, but what's the base? It's a bit Mehari sans corrugations, a bit Gringa without some panel gaps. Also in the convoy film it appears to be the only one, is it maybe a one off? Nice looking though, I'd have one.

I knew this car a few years ago when it was just 4x2. It´s an argentinian Ami 8 chasis and mechanics (drum front brakes) with an fieberglass body called Lodi. Most Lodi aren´t very nice but this one it is. I saw the youtube videos. His owner is a very kind man and I hope he join the forum to tell us about the mods.

Hi Mec I'm always trying to find out more about Agentinian produced Ami's. Are there many still around down there? I'd love one day to get one, I don't think there are any in Europe. Cheers Matt

Top work! Can't wait to see it, how many cars have we got 'in stock' for future specials?

The main differences with the european are: -Just the break was made, no sedan . -The doors are a mix between Ami 6's and Ami 8's doors (handles of Ami 6 but windows of Ami 8). -Always drums brakes at front. It´s rare to find a good Ami 8. I hope I do sometime (and I hope I could buy it!). Most Ami were transformated in Mehari. If not, were used and used and used and they are in a very poor condition. The Ami 8 was the A-series derivate less apreciated. Not for me.

You lot are knowledgeable puts my feeble 2CV knowledge to shame. Interesting how you don't have to do much to make something look great, which the red one does, compared to (sorry about this) the white one, which doesn't look so great.
