I just have to say that I am hooked on my 2CV. Had it since January and I keep wondering why I am spending so much money on it, but when I get in and have a drive I fall in love all over again, these people in their modern gas guzzlers don't know what they are missing!! It may leak, it my rattle, it may grind round all the corners, but it does it with such a puppy dog joy. Bless.

Also one thing I notice so much is how nice other drivers have become, they just love Marcel and I. Unlike when I used to drive chaved up motors.

Oh? With me, they just pull out of junctions, even if I'm travelling at 60mph and I'm only 20ft from them(it's like they see me, but think I'm stationary, or something ....Just as well the 2cv has amazing brakes).

Actually I do get them pulling out infront of me like the 2CV is a hot air ballon or something, but then I have been waved to pull out more than ever before aswell.

And an amazingly loud air horn for such occasions - or is that just me?

My 2cv horn goes "peep"

Mine went peep originally, then added one or two more standard 2cv horns to get to PEEP, then upgraded to twin tone airhorns for the PAARP, then removed one of the trumpets to get an even louder single tone air horn PPAAAARRPP!

Actually fitted an airhorn to my smart car as well realtively recently, its a rather nice compact built in compressor and horn trumpet made in Italy*, thats what I would upgrade to for a 2cv if I was doing it again. this sort of thing

*I figure if the Italians can get anything right, its got to be car horns!

I always think it pays to let people know you're there when you need to. Bought my sister one of those for her Mini [classic] too.

Maybe if you like the peep though stick with that - different strokes and all that. Someone somewhere has one of those old fashioned vintage ones fitted to a 2cv that go (ahem...) 'Arooogahh'
