Had a very frustrating time wiring in the trailer socket.......

Spliced the wiring in where the loom drops inside the rear van section just before it disappears into the side panel, every single wire was green, including an earth.

So after plumbing in the 7 way relay, the brake lights don't work but do cause the winker buzzer to rattle softly.

After redoing all the connections twice I finally discarded the earth tap into the main loom and made a new one to the van body and voila - all working.

And this was despite warnings on both the relay instructions and the 2CVGB handbook about ensuring a decent earth connection.

At least I can carry the Honda Cub on the towball carrier now.

Tomorrow I need to finish the bed boards for the van and start the shelving for cooker and baked beans storage.

I did work out how to remove the rear bench seat (it's a proper mixte version), crikey there's a lot of room in the back now

I just stripped out my entire dash to give a good clean-up. I wouldn't let my dog anywhere near it now!

Bought 4 new tyres for the shed and have probably doubled its value as a result......

got pulled over and sent to a temporary VOSA testing base because my van leaned too much on a roundabout apparently.

Police officer didn't even notice it was left hand drive until after they'd been speaking to the passenger for several minutes.

Might be wrong about this, but are vans different from other A series, in that they've got an earth in the 'front to rear' loom?
I've never found one on 2CVs or Dyanes, that's for sure... :?
