Been out in the 2CV for an hour or so, now back home, no problems.

I took the 123 ignition off the Dyane and replaced the points box. I know that's controversial, but 1) all I ever seem to read about 123 on the forums is the problems people are having with it and how everything needs to be in tip top condition for it to work properly, and 2) it's my car. :)

Yesterday drove down to Rennes for more tests and finally they have found out my problem. 2 years of steroids and no salt in diet should cure me. (Steroids --- ah - enter Tour de France next year!!!) :D

John - never, ever, had issues with the 123 on the BB - it was new about 3 years ago when I put it on and it has always started on the button even on the dankest of days.......

Might do ... I'm going to hang on to it for now but once I know the Dyane runs ok on points, I'll probably get rid of it. I'll drop you a PM when I'm ready.

I know, but the thing is, I've never had one running on points that doesn't do those things. :) I like points, I know where I am with them.
