 Re: this years MOT questions
Fair enough. Last MOT I had, was for my bike. Pretty much the first thing the chap said was "A bulb horn's not acceptable for a bike that age." and pretty much the last thing he said, as he handed me the green sheet, was, "We'll pretend you fixed the horn." So I guess I'm not in much of a position to say anything!
First thing I think I'd try is probably another bulb, particularly if you've had any from Halfords?

 Re: this years MOT questions
3 adviserys. Front wheel bearing (which is fine) and both front kingpins (told the mot tester he needs to learn to test a car, an they where fine particularly as one kingpin is brand new) but I still walked away with 3 adviserys but a pass overall

 Re: this years MOT questions
Wasn't wheel bearing it was oil leak the third. But that's 'cos when I oil changed a week or two ago, I spilt loads down the engine when topping up!!!

It is just an MOT. Unless the screws are deliberately placed to alter the meaning of the number plate no one is going to be in the least bit interested. If your car has No structural rust No big chips in the windscreen directly in the driver’s line of sight Legal tyres Functioning brakes and no rusty (to excess) brake pipes Decent exhaust Working lights Working horn Working wipers and washers Freshly greased non fubarred kingpins Half decent wheel bearings No sharp edges Working seat belts without cuts Then it’ll pass; the MOT is a minimum standard. It really isn't that hard to pass. you forgot the rubber gaitors on the steering rod ends

 Re: this years MOT questions
main beam indicator? working steering lock? fog light that isn't in the boot?
dont forget to tell them the parking brake is on the front axle and that yes the suspension tie rods do rattle about when its up on jacks and no there shouldnt be rubber boots or nylon rose type joints either.
