The front bumper was bought from ECAS at Kelso (2005) and only now is it starting to show rust in the seam. I put a thin layer of grease along the seams of the bumper and the rear of the wheels. The only reason the bumper is now showing signs of corrosion is because I've been a bit lax with applying grease these past two years.

A good paint job with all the prep would be 4-5 t o begin with. New panels, rebuild engine. All these 'rebuilds' at 8-9k are surely built down to a cost. Yes, but any business doing anything as a commercial venture have built in a healthy profit margin. Having been in business myself for over 20 years, nothing is worth doing unless there is at least 30% profit, but in most cases 50%-60% profit is the norm.

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
I should clarify I was referring to gross profit not net profit. You guys need to put your prices up. The average restaurant works on a 60% profit margin. Starbucks coffee = £2.20 cost price is no more than 60p Superdry t-shirt = £25.00 purchase price - cost price? I'd hazard a guess at no more than £6. Glass of post-mix coke in a bar = £1.50 purchase price - cost price is about 20p. Much less if you are Wethetspoons or McDonalds because of the bulk purchase discount. Clothes/pants and beauty products have the biggest GP.

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
You've obviously never worked in the marine trade
It's mostly disposable income, they all winge about prices, and suppliers are horrifically expensive that's te problem
As soon as you put the word marine in anything it's expensive.
And the ones with disposable incomes are the worst. Yet they'll spend a fortune in shops such as mentioned above and not complain
