rusty roof Well off topic , but still concerns thin rusty metal ... I have to deal with this roof, would ideally replace it but that's not going to happen just yet, any thoughts on paints etc that might give it a few more years. Its massive so can't really be treated with something that'd cost more then new tin!

Re: The O/T thread! This might sound daft, but why not coat it with a cheap vegetable oil and then pass a flame over the oil to seal it? Alternatively, wait until you get a really hot sunny day, and cover it in oil on that day?
Sorry if it sounds silly, but it's all I can think of!

Re: The O/T thread! That reminds of the time back in 2000 when a local cycle club in Wales had a hill climb up though a village in West Wales - it was a 30mph zone so all 50 riders flashed the speed camera on the way back to the start - would loved to see the Police develope the film!!!

Re: The O/T thread! Had an interview for an apprentaship at rolls-royce (cars not aero) the other day. What a place! Factory is so quiet and clean. And as you'd exspect every aspect of everything in the building is PERFECT. I didnt however pluck up the balls to point out that the wraith they had in reception on display had an imperfection on the metal work (big pimple by mirror) thought they might get a bit shirty if i did that! Now the 2-3 week gruelling wait  but felt overall it went very well!
