 Re: London to Brighton
It's not a mission at all, it's always happened and it's always been fine. It's only recently it's gone a bit shitfaced. The thing everybody has forgotten is that it's 2cving and it's a laugh, and it always used to be that everybody wanted everybody else to have a laugh. It was very occasional that people fell out or got upset like today. Since 2010 it's all gone to shit. Salbris will hopefully be the turning point when everybody remembers what it's all about.
Look at Spa last year, you had the wreckheads with the disco chicken who played Bob BASTARD marley until half six in the morning, louder than god, camping next to people my parents age in their pristine Burtons and stuff, and everybody got along fine.

This is dead true. Everyone got on. I think our UK events try to be all things to everyone and end up being flat for everyone. I think its a definite minority who object to the all night parties and drunken field hooning. James I KEEP TRYING to get you to come to a camp. October 14th - 16th. Its a friday - sunday. Blank out your diary. You can be my spa wingman. I've told you FOUR MONTHS in advance - no excuses.

 Re: London to Brighton
.......and interesting point.....why are these events organised by army cadets ?.....its not like parking a few cars in a field is work experience for bombing some middle Eastern Country.... I have to admit that the moment I drive into a field and someone in a luminous jacket waves me to park...then just puts their left hand up to the window and waves me another two inches forward.... ......I feel like going home and taking up cross stitching.....

 Re: London to Brighton
Either abandon the car at a jaunty angle and walk off leaving the aspurger syndome fretting cause his line is all wonky, or over shoot, then do it again in reverse, repeat till you or the spotty oik gets bored.
you have to take pleasure in the small acts of non conformity.

Noisy people getting complained about and over exuberant drinking and or driving have always had people tutting and writing to the mag. its just in the past such anti social people were given a "quiet" area to camp in last nat i went to some young lady was whineging at the top of her voice at 5 in the morning that " no she wouldnt be quiet if people could wake her at 1 am going back to their tent from the bonfire then she could jolly well get up at 5 in the morning and make as much noise as possible- they should have thought of that......" had a quiet word with her later dont think BF was having a good weekend either as he'd been "reamed" by a trader over his display re chassis event.....where nobody from the alleged bunch bothered to turn up and actually do anything, volunteers had to step in. think as the demographic is changing as the cars become cherished classics then im afraid the straw hat brigade* will slowly take over/are taking over S *no not Pete666 who has bees subverting the straw hat for years.

 Re: London to Brighton
Sean -- was she in the noisey field? Surely if she was, then she has a point. Well, not just cos she was woken at 1am, but the field could be loud at all times, so she was well within her rights to be loud at 5am?
