My BX scared me today. Went to the garage and found a huge pool of LHM underneath the front of the car.
Turns out that it came from an almost full bottle, which I keep near to the windshield washer reservoir, that had flipped upside down and apparently wasn't sealed too well. I feel like I dodged a bullet

I've spent the last two days using public transport. I left home in Shetland at 7:30am on Monday and got down to Worcester at 8:15pm last night. I walked the five minutes to the bus stop and jumped on the little bus, little ferry, slightly bigger bus, quite a bit bigger ferry, slightly bigger bus again, to travel the 57 miles to Lerwick. Got there at 10:10am and popped into NorthLink Ferries to book the outward journey to Aberdeen. I spent the next five hours wandering around town and having coffee at the Mareel on the waterfront. Boarded the ferry at 3:30pm and it left for Aberdeen, via Kirkwall in Orkney, at just gone 5pm Monday evening. On the way to Orkney we passed very close to the west coast of Fair Isle (the most remote community in the British Isles). Ferry got to Aberdeen at 7am Tuesday and I was booked on the 9:30am Mega Bus to Manchester. When we got to Preston I'd had enough of sitting on the bloody coach so I checked the times of the trains from Preston and jumped off the coach and walked the half mile to the rail station and got the 5:15pm London Euston train to Birmingham, and from Birmingham New St. I got the 7:20pm train to Worcester. Walked out of station and got a taxi 'home' for 8:25pm.

I reconnected the battery to the 2CV this morning and it just refused to start. I went through the check list and realised it was fuel starvation, so a little drop of petrol in the top of the carb got it to fire up straight away, and it's now over at Peter Cross' in Tibberton for a quick check over and an MOT tomorrow. Hopefully have it back by the afternoon and when I return to Shetland next week, I'll take it with me.

Wow what a marathon - how much did that lot cost? I bet its cheaper in the car....

Far quicker, too. I'd have got back to Worcester by 3pm. Even in the 2CV.

The bus from Unst to Lerwick-around 60 miles-was £6.40. I have an Islander Discount Card for the main NorthLink Ferry to/from Shetland which gives me and the car a 30% saving on regular cost. The 14hr crossing cost me £27 plus £35 for a cabin. The Mega Bus coach from Aberdeen to Manchester cost £28 and I jumped off at Preston and got the train which cost £52 to Worcester. £6 got me a taxi 'home'.

I'm booked on next Wednesday night's crossing from Aberdeen to Shetland with the 2CV.

Bought a moped.
