Not as dark as I'd imagined. I was just looking at it on the map - never realised that N Shetland is further north than parts of Greenland! Had no idea it is that far north!

What are you doing for work on Shetland?

I'm further north than any of the Scandinavian capital cities and pretty much on the same latitude as the capital of Alaska. So yeah, I'm quite far north-and I love it! Currently working at Saxa Vord, Shetland is seeing a massive investment by various oil/gas companies (much bigger than the original oil frenzy of the 1970s) and all available hotel rooms are being snapped up by said companies to accommodate the influx of workforce. It's looking increasingly likely that the mothballed Unst Airport is going to be reopened soon, as all the other airports are creaking under the strain.

Just returned from my first 100km ride after starting treatment for my lung problem. A few months ago got totally out of breath and tasting metal in my mouth after a 12km ride to the coffee shop in the village. Today 100km @ 26.7km/h and feel great. Just need to get legs stronger and can start racing again. (I know I will not win the Tour de France but I am 52 years old). Picture at half way point - Fougeres

You legend!
Fitness is still under rated in this day and age... it is awesome you are back in the saddle and at 26.7km/h is a nice pace!
I currently ride 38k's 6 days a week in and out and in and out again from work. Its faster than driving, parking is no problem and it keeps the body fit and sensors alert, win!
Don't ever stop moving ;-)
