Y'know what's missing from modern life? Chaps. Rotters. Cads. Bounders. Terry Thomas types, y'know? Upper class delinquents. It's such a shame that in the name of progress, and equality and all that guff we have lost real characters in the public life. I'd sooner spend thirty seconds in the company of Graham Hill and James Hunt than an hour talking their modern counterparts. This isn't just a 'everything was better in the old days' type thought its a pondering that in an effort to sterilise people in the public eye, and especially within sporting arenas, to promote 'all things good' that we've somewhat thrown the baby out with the bath water. We've lost character from our stars, we've given up on amusing quips and our personalities have no personality. I want to see sports stars casting aside their clean cut images and start shagging glamorous women, making jokes about it instead of sheepishly apologising when they're caught doing something wrong. Prince Harry apologised when he was caught bollock naked with some totty in a Vegas hotel room. Apologised! If I was him I'd have had to have issued a statement to the press whilst holding a bottle of bolly, and a big cigar like the 13th duke of Wimbourne, saying something along the lines of 'Haw haw haw, bingo!' Without any sign of regret. Just being a rich arse isn't enough, there's far too many of them around, no humour, no wit, they've already accepted they're in the wrong in their own minds and pretend to give a shit about having made errors. This country has lost that upper class humour and confidence. And it's a bloody shame.
