That's exactly what pisses me off those poxy little white bottles are no good mate, you need a big sucker about 4 foot tall, my mate had a lovely mig, I try to use the arc when I can, I have tried the look away technique but you enevitably can't help but catch a bit of glare as its natural to look at what your doing. I welded for a couple of hours with the arc like this only to wake at 3 am almost crying with pain and my eyes were blurry and sticking together! Mate I thought I made myself blind not only very very painful but very very scary. To add insult to injury I did it again about 6 months later! So now I NEVER and I'm go an say try to weld not weld again without a mask. I felt such a tit, just hope I have not damaged my eyes at all. We will have to meet soon.

Good man.
Best thing I ever did regarding welding.
I only bought a cheapo one and it's still going strong after seven years.

Listening to Simon Mayo on Radio 2 yesterday, and he was chatting with the fellow who created the show, QI. The interview was quite interesting (see what I did just there < ) one of the things touched on was the fact that spectral analysis of the centre of the Milky Way galaxy shows that it smells of raspberries, and another fact is all the information contained on the entire World Wide Web has the same weight of one strawberry. It's all down to Einstein's E=MC2 (that's E=MC squared). I just love facts like that. :)

Not even the French are buying them anymore! 13.3% isn't the biggest percentage but I bet the actual number of sales decreasing is larger than most places as they've always been brand loyal towards national companies - would like to see the actual figures...

And you have to love relativity! Although I find it amusing that so many people know about the equation but have no idea whatsoever what it actually means or represents...

Post Re: The O/T thread!
E is energy, M is mass, and C is the speed of light, squared. The formula is dimensionally consistent and does not depend on any specific system of measurement units. The equation E = mc2 indicates that energy always exhibits relativistic mass in whatever form the energy takes.[2] Mass–energy equivalence does not imply that mass may be "converted" to energy, but it allows for matter to be converted to energy. Through all such conversions, however mass remains conserved (i.e., the quantity of mass remains constant), since mass is a property of matter and also any type of energy. Energy is also conserved. In physics, mass must be differentiated from matter. Matter, when seen as certain types of particles, can be created and destroyed (as in particle annihilation or creation), but a closed system of precursors and products of such reactions, as a whole, retain both the original mass and energy thoughout the reaction.

When the system is not closed, and energy is removed from a system (for example in nuclear fission or nuclear fusion), some mass is always removed along with the energy, according to their equivalence where one always accompanies the other. This energy thus is associated with the missing mass, and this mass will be added to any other system which absorbs the removed energy. In this situation E = mc2 can be used to calculate how much mass goes along with the removed energy. It also tells how much mass will be added to any system which later absorbs this energy. This was the original use of the equation when derived by Einstein.

:? I'm sure you all understand
