That Mehari is part of the inspiration I've had for the Shedouin. I saw it first in a 2CV book many years ago, rediscovered it after I bought Belinda and thought "I've got no problems with weight/space if they can do it" !!!

Bertie,
The Mehari is Terrence Kennedy's one. He wrote a book about travelling the world in meharis and a 2cv van called 'a nonsense of direction' amazing story and a very interesting chap I had a chat with him at the Slovenia WM. From the picture the Mehari camper body evolved again, having a pop up roof by the time I saw it in the flesh. He also had a GS motor running the Mehari 4x4 running gear at the time. It could "Almost Climb Trees" - cool.

Going home on the last day, empty site. Always sad! :-(

On the way home, first breakdown of Ben's van, about 5km after leaving the site!

Great pictures Will thanks for scanning and posting :D Some great memories there it brought it all back for the scruffy looking bloke smoking a fag in the picture above. 8-) Got any more pictures to come?

After Ben's poor old van broke down didn't you tow it with Mavis all the way to your home in the UK on the end of a 4 foot bit of rope at an average of 70 MPH?
