How would they do like for like on a 2cv? You'd need a 4 seat, 4 door saloon that has a full opening roof, good offroad and capable of 50mpg.

that was for the ami6, bamboo and the merc, which bumped it up a bit. Much less than the £1000+ that direct line wanted!

They sent me a Nissan Micra. I quickly fixed my car...

I got a Vauxhall Corsa *yawns* the least exciting car ever.

My view of FJ has changed slightly as I've gone through this claim. Unfortunately, FJ don't seem to deal with claims themselves. They use their underwriters Equity Red Star who I'm not at all impressed with. The man dealing with my claim has been rude, is virtually uncontactable and has not kept me updated on the progress of my claim at all.

Of more concern, is that the engineer from FJ who came to inspect my car told the garage on the phone
Quote:
we'd normally expect our client to contribute towards this kind of repair as of course this sort of damage wouldn't happen if the car was new

WTF :?: :?: :?:

Thankfully the garage were having none of it.

Thing is, he's from MY insurance company, not the third party's. Also, I'm on a classic car policy because my car isn't new so is likely to be damaged differently to a modern car

There is a frightening lack of communication between FJ and Equity Red star (see hidden excess thread). If I hadnt have quibbled with FJ I'd have been paying double the excess.

I think here, the issue is Equity Red Star, not FJ. Equity just underwrite the policies FJ sell, but I think Equity need to be more aware of the details of FJs policies before their engineers make statements like that.
