Popped the window back in. I'm pleased with this repair. It went from this large rusty mess (It didn't look this bad until I started poking at it!)

To this. Ta-da. I can't weld or anything so I killed the rust as best I could (Bilt Hamber converter then POR15 paint) & recreated the area & lip with chemical metal filler. Its taken bloody ages! The spray is from ECAS & a fair match.

Still working the on the top of the windscreen panel & above the B pillars on each side....

Post Re: What did you do with your A Series today?
   .......I used my 2CV for a 50 mile round overnight trip into Derbyshire yesterday ....all was fine until this morning, when I could'nt find my keys.
Frantic phone call to my daugter, to bring me my "spare set" .....and then I realised that I'd left the "Crooklock" on the steering wheel, and I dont have a spare key for the Crooklock.
Another frantic call to my daughter ......"Look on the shelf in the garage, there's a steering wheel for a 2CV somewhere on there".......[ along with a few old starter motors/alternators/wiper assemblies/seatbelts etc, etc, et al ......you know ;) ....the kind of cr*p we all seem to amass over the years ]
I was expecting having to remove the steering wheel [complete with Crooklock] and put my other steering wheel on to get the car home.
By this time I had gathered a crowd of neighbours .....[on announcing my intention, one guy piped up ....."What about the airbag" [ on a 2CV??? .....Yeah right  ]
And then another neighbour rolled up, with my keys [ recognisable of course by the little 2CV on them ]....great idea that at the last National 8-) ....at least he knew who's keys they were :D ......it seems I'd dropped my keys last night, virtually on his doorstep.
Fortunately, my daughter had just finished doing the "school run" with the grandchimps, and was just about to start searching for the spare steering wheel in the garage......so I was able to phone her and save her doing the 25miles there & 25 miles back [ not tomention venturing into my spider infested garage  ] to bale her poor old Dad outa the sh*t.
I'm now contemplating tying my keys to a peice of string .....and hanging them around my neck.
T. ;)

No need for action unless it happens again, then you might consider stashing the spare set in a secret place on the car....as long as you don't forget where you've hidden them...

Greased the king pins, knife rod edges and driveshafts. Sprayed some underseal on the bottom. MOT tomorrow! Cancelled last time as they weren't ready, what a waste of a trip.

Oh and sorted out the headlamps which had the wires plugged in differently after I had them painted recently. The foglamp only came on with high beams - which were in the wrong place on the stalk!

More of this.. Windscreen out etc. Bloody rust. I will proof it as well as I can & recreate the lip like I did on the door.
The grey paint is POR15, awesome stuff.

I have new wiper spindles, new flap fixing strip, & new windscreen seal. Hoping it will be super watertight after this! The new windscreen seal is a lot more supple than the old one so I'm sure that'll help.
I have some decent windscreen sealant too for good measure.

Did put a 3 metre ladder in the boot passing under back and front seat...You should have seen the people watching... sliding the whole thing in and closing the lid..

Used it to drive to work yesterday, hood fully open. Left it on the car park all day with the hood left open, and drove home with the hood fully open. Pretty much unheard of up here on the most northerly island in Britain at this time of the year. Totally different day today though. Rain and very strong winds. Car left in the garage till tomorrow at least.

Changed the fuel pump. Easy job with the SPOG stud set.

Endless daily faffing with doing the painty bits.

Recreated the lip on the windscreen panel, lots of coats of high build printer on everything. (My new favourite thing to use, can't believe I hadn't discovered it already!)

Getting better with the aerosol action. It's so satisfying when the gloss goes on just right!
This week I'll put the windscreen back in hopefully. It's been so great having the use of a garage for this.
