NONE!

Obviously the voters were taken by the paintwork, 4x4 conversion and of course your ignition system!

not today, but a bit of a catch up of the month. I was lucky enough to have a couple of weeks off work, starting on the morning of July 2nd, after a nightshift. Although we were busy in the early hours, I still mangaged a bit of time to prep the van - wash, clean the windows, a bit of polish on the bonnet (still original paint), a bit of a tidy up inside and new valve caps.

I then drove down to Andover to join my friend (and a dozen or so Hot Rods and customs) at his sons' school fête:

The following day, back in the West Mids, we travelled out to the local Hot Rod & Classic breakfast meeting and then in the afternoon we had a nice drive up into Derbyshire to see my friends' jazz band - on the way back I stopped off to see Merv Sheldon, who took some rather nice pictures of Hugo:

The next few days saw Hugo and I at a funeral, then at a local (Leics) pub & classic car evening, before going down to Hereford to camp with a few of our friends:

Back home after a long weekend of cider drinking, we had our local (West Mids) 2CV meeting and then I had two days of Morris dancing: the first in Kenilworth, the second back in Leicestershire, where I had managed to convince my local club, Leics-Car-Go! to join me. We had eight cars in total: Hugo the Van, Ian's 350, Frank & Andy's P&C D*lly, Andy & Karina's Charleston, Alf's blue Special, Richard & Narissa's Bleu Tropique, a flying visit from Giles in his yellow Mehari and a very special visit from ex-LIPPS (LCG's previous incarnation) guy Pete Cross in his DY C1T Dyane:

Last weekend I was at Santa Pod with my Andover friends again for the Dragstalgia event (Nostalgia drag rcaing), with their '49 Prefect and '60s Anglia. No pics from the camping field, but I did take one last shot on a Northamptonshire lane as we made our way back home avoiding the A14:

We covered a little over 1000 miles, mainly trouble free; the light/horn switch packed up (fixed now) and the throttle return spring snapped just as I came off the motorway on my very last journey, which made for an entertaining last two miles home! Apart from that, I was very pleased with how he's been running (quick enough) and the fuel consumption seems to improve as time goes on (we were into the high 40s last week; I even dared to travel 330kms on one tank). It's been a year since he's been back on the road after a bit of remedial work in 2014/5, following the winter Shetland trip - we're still having fun!

Yes, it's probably a more metal-friendly season, but I loved that trip - even the memories of the 30+ hours on the ferries are becoming less traumatic

After a wonderful week in west Wales at Aberporth, drove 180 miles home today all roofless - just what 2CV's were made for!

I blew some bits off my chequered roof with the pressure washer. Damn me and that pressure washer, when will I learn!

So I stuck them back on with PVA cos its all I had, it'll have to do for now.

Got a brand new exhaust crossbox which only took 5 days to arrive, and did so on Friday. Spent an hour or so single-handedly fitting it. Car is now nicely quiet... For a 2CV. Just need to get the gearbox rebuilt, then I won't have whining in my ears. Looking forward to the drive down to Worcester in a little over a month from now.
