Jasu if the rest of the gearbox oil is as dirty as the bit on the handle i think a change wouldn't be a bad idea...

Yes, the owner has changed the oil, she didn't know what oil was there and now there is "the right" oil. Old oil smell like worn diff oil...

Did find the right jets for the 34 PICS 10 carb. Car is now running well on all speeds... ;-)
Ready for the drive to France this weekend...

Had this plate made for another car, and just thought I'd see what the black and silver type looked like on my Deuche. I absolutely love it. Shame its not legal, although everyone else seems to get away with it on their Audi's and so on... (Must be reflective yellow on the rear of my '89 in the UK.)

Maybe I'll get a set and have them easy to swap.

Ian,
you've probably got more than enough 'reflective' surface pointing rearwards with that highly polished Dyane bumper... ;)

Revolving plates is a great idea..

Yeah it's pretty shiny isn't it Ken. Shame I can't say the same for the paint, it fades faster than I can polish it. The bumpers were from some company, I think they were made in Taiwan out of stainless steel. Quite expensive at the time.

Home from work, it's a fairly decent day, if a bit overcast, so I'm going to get the Deuche out of the garage and go for a pootle around the island. Back in five minutes.

Cleaned the roof. One of the white chequered bits came off.
Polished it, it's so tatty now I felt like I was polishing a turd. But it still looks great from a distance.

I will have to get some bits painted soon. Bonnet first I think, it's so bleached and nasty.
