I can't imagine that any fan, small enough to fit in the tube, will be more effective than the 1 horsepower fan in front.

Fitted dry tech coil from ECAS after having to swop to a to a spare when the original got hot breaking down, causing re starts being a pain having to put the spare coil in, which also played up when warm. That would effect an immediate start thanks to the rubber mounts only took a minute lol

Next to be done is the breather, question is though do you fit a new one or use the Burton repair kit saving £20 and taking longer to do, also messy?

No experience with the quality of the breather kit from Burton, all Ecas breather pipes i've seen had the paint flaking of in no-time and they turned into complete rustbuckets in a few years. http://www.ecas2cvparts.co.uk/filler-engine-breather-more-efficient-type-designed-england-p-2226.html
All new, original type, breathers I've seen in recent years, didn't work properly or stopped working very soon after installment.

I've had a breather unit from Ecas on for a good few years now and it still looks good. In a kind of galvanised finish or something. Just the normal type.

The small 2.5" would do OK, note some maybe 5volt, wire in series, 2 in a tube.
And they may be free , 4x4 Superfin had some for his rear screen demist
