that would make some sense! Not a problem on an IES with wishbone suspension though :)

Luke,
are you sure about that?
With an A series car's 'leading' front radius arms and brake backplates rigidly attached to the arms, torque transmitted to the arm when braking would tend to lift the front of the car.
In a way, almost an 'anti-dive' setup.

If you ever get the chance to drive a 2CV with only the rear brakes connected, it's quite comical how the back end will dip under braking.
Of course, if you put the brakes on when going backwards, the tail end lifts rather dramatically...

Once I've got a bit more spare time on my hands, I'll be chasing down the sole IES I'm aware of and we'll do our best to get it featured here.

The owner is _very_ busy at the mo, with a whole stack of stuff, including some "personal life" issues. I was having a chat to him last night, and meant to mention this thread, but forgot.

I shall email him (and you) now.

I was agreeing with what Sam had said. :) It would be a bit like a motorcycle with leading link forks.

I don't know very much about the suspension on an IES Super America, but surely it wouldn't be an issue with wishbone suspension?
