are you sure about that?
With an A series car's 'leading' front radius arms and brake backplates rigidly attached to the arms, torque transmitted to the arm when braking would tend to lift the front of the car.
In a way, almost an 'anti-dive' setup.
If you ever get the chance to drive a 2CV with only the rear brakes connected, it's quite comical how the back end will dip under braking.
Of course, if you put the brakes on when going backwards, the tail end lifts rather dramatically...
