Re: bulkhead cladding, and general soundproofing
Just spent the last 1/2 hr cutting and shaping 3no. 20mm pieces of Kingspan. It's purpose-made for lagging, it's dead easy to cut to size and an absolute doddle to sculpt and shape. Plus it's as light as a feather. Stuck the pieces in place on my driver's door with quick blast of Spray Mount then popped the door card back on. Job's a good un. Other doors tomorrow. If I'm feeling bold I'm might even have a crack at doing the bulkhead.... then again maybe I'll do the bootlid first... Cost: £11.50 for 1200mm x 2400mm board. Get it from places like Sheffield Insulation, or off t'Internet somewhere.
Tip: Kingspan, Celotex, Xtratherm: all the same stuff, just different manufacturers.

Re: bulkhead cladding, and general soundproofing
Hi Snowy. Very interested to hear how it goes (no pun intended...)
I wonder if Celotex is the best typo of stuff to use tho'? It's designed for thermal insulation and , being very lightweight, I can't see it doing much to absorb bad vibes such as you get in the doors, etc.
Anyways, glad you're testing it!

This stuff looks interesting from that site. https://www.noisestopsystems.co.uk/soundproofing-floors-4/isolation-mat-8.htmlThere's a triple laminated rubber matting too that sounds good but is a tad expensive at £28.00 a sheet.

I like that, I click on a link to a site offering solutions to nuisance noise, and one of the first things I see is a woman in a cardboard box!

Re: bulkhead cladding, and general soundproofing
Speaking of soundproofing the neighbours are driving me nuts.
How much noise can one woman make (and I know there is only one in there I saw her go in)?!
I may have to take an angle grinder to something large and heavy.
