Nice one... ;)
Did you need to drill any extra holes for drainage of the molten zinc or venting of air as the tank went into the galvanizing bath?
I've got an Ami tank here which has just the right amount of rust.

Yes, a vent hole on the opposit side.
We made a new filler tube and welded it on, the zink "filled" the holes.

Replaced points and condenser today, spent a while on the timing getting max advance nice and then even managed to start with the handle.

The joy was very short lived as I narrowly avoided a broken hand when the starting handle got stuck in the dog and whipped around to crack my hand one at full pelt. Went to kick it free and got a crack on the foot too.

Not even a quarter mile into a test drive and the engine started coughing, spluttering and lost all power. Guess that'll be yet another shit new condenser to go on the mountain...

I have one here that's been sitting for yonks waiting to go on the car. Fair few of the solder joins seems to have corroded from sitting in a damp garage but if it doesn't clean up I'll give you a shout?

Cheers.

Shot over to Spannersami Abbey in Warwick with the hood fully open this evening. Car drove perfectly all the way there and back. Loving it.
