^^Crikey, that's ambitious. Three and a half grand for a D*lly with no MOT and patches of rust here and there? And what's with the X plate?

It's just up the road from me, I might go and have a look at it and see what makes it worth all that money. :?

DVLA reckon it's a red '82 car, so it's probably a mix'n'match from a red X-reg with a shagged shell and a R'n'Wolly with a shagged chassis...

I suppose. I once had a 1986 drum brake 2CV built in exactly the same way, after all. Still, £3,500 ... :o

The guy has a zero feedback score, and the price is £3500 'reserve not met' remember! :) Does this mean that he has no real idea what it's worth and just banged it on to find out?

Or does it mean that, (according to the 'Toomany2cv's theory of market values, where all you need to realise a high price are two idiots) those two being one to initially ask it, and another one to actually pay it, can this seller be identified as the former looking for the latter?

There doesn't appear to be 'owt about that car that otherwise warrants the asking price, unless those four previous owners were John Paul George and Ringo.

Totally agree with you, Old-Nail EXCEPT to point out (like an irritating smartarse git) that John died before X-plates came out, so he couldn't be one of the previous owners. ;)

Oh, isn't that true ...

Here's something else local to me, and it looks like it might be a lot more fun. Cheaper too. It's a Rear engined 2CV off roader. :D

Definitely.

Although my theory was originally coined for eBay auctions, where you have two idiots fighting each other for the right to pay far too much for some useless tat.

I ended up paying £87.20 for a Book on Citroen DS like that. That was the last time I used Chapman's bid late and high method.

I now have to keep the book for 100 years to realise a return on investment there. Arse!
