It was'nt called "photoshopping" then ...it was called "darkroom technique" .....the picture is printed from two different negatives,and the printing paper is carefully shaded .....look carefully at the above pic and you can just see the outline [in white] of the "mask" the printer used around the car. Heres a pic [printed from two negatives] I printed some 25 years ago using a similar technique.....[poor quality pic btw,I dont possess a scanner]   My [then new] 1988 2CV & my old '75 Dyane,parked on the local canal towpath. IIRC .....Citroen did a similar publicity shot featuring a BX & a Traction. T.
