I think Solicitors need to put their money where their mouth is regarding any 'can't loose' type statements. I've suffered similarly at their hands, and if ever I'm in trouble again I'll ask that they waive their fee if I loose if they are so confident. For each extra day they can drag out a case unnecessarily they reap ever greater financial rewards, whether you the client win or loose is of no consequence to them, their fees are safe. Rant over!

Aren't "Registered keeper" & "Legal owner" 2 seperate things though? Even if he did have a V5 it may not be his to sell

A sad situation Simon and a clear example of the fact, The Law IS an Ass. I will say, when it comes to law, in most cases, you are innocent until proven guilty(unless The Sun, The Mirror et al have got hold of the facts and skewed them), but when it comes to motoring offences, you are Guilty...End of.
