Sam,
wish I'd not been out for most of today, or I'd have asked you to sneak a few pictures of the underside.

I'm still wondering if that stretched version was from the same fellow who cobbled together this abomination.

Truly frightening that someone saw fit to award it an MOT pass.

ken

( Comments on these pictures are on my Flickr page, btw

I'm not sure what I'm looking at here, can someone point out the (probably very obvious) problems?

The side rails of the chassis are tacked together bed rails

The re claimed cross tubes are poorly welded in with no penetration of the weld

There seems to be little attention to bracing the chassis, if he caught the bumper on the gate post or bin it may well skew the chassis.

The rear axle tube bolts are undone by 10mm by the looks of it

The lamp bar is on blocks of wood

The rear glass should be tempered and kitemarked, in an accident those windows will crack into lethal shards

Shudder to think about what provision has been made for seatbelt mounts.

The worst is it was MOT'd, any of the above should have had the car taken off the road by the VOSA appointed tester. And , from what i gather, its been thru a specialist.
