Depends how you do it... I'll certainly be keeping it as far out of the driver's way as possible in the Mehari - made more difficult by the fact that the driver and passenger spaces in a Mehari aren't symmetrical!

That Dyane was orange tenere, and i think this is too. It says it came in under scrappage; correct me if i'm wrong, but to be eligible for scrappage the car needs to be currently MOT'd, which the 2cvtv wasn't - and it certainly needed some work for it to gain one.

It's not exactly a trade secret that a non-tested car that comes in for scrappage might be viewed <ummm> "slightly more flexibly" by the in-house tester than a car that they know is destined to return to the road... (and, yes, it was a dealer-employed MOT tester that told me that...)

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
So they'll MOT a car knowing full well that it's not going to be driven again? that's business I suppose. Isn't it about time MOT garages and service stations were separated?

Personally, I'm quite happy with the scrappage scheme taking non-MOTable cars off the road in place of ones with a ticket, if it's going to take any cars...

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
Neil, the Dyane which has been 'scrappaged' was definitely a 1980s build, but for whatever reason it's listed as being a 1974 car. There's evidence of a quick and dirty respray inside the plastic headlamp buckets, also on Ebay... Neil wrote: That Dyane was orange tenere, and i think this is too. Fair cop! The Dyane that was on 2cvtv was definitely orange tenere.

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
ahh ok so its not the same one as 2cvtv! also... don't you need to have been a registered owner for over a year on a car being scrapped? IIRC you cant just buy a shed, mot it and then take it in for your 2k off a heap of modern crap!
