 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
I found that it was fine in mine/spanners/Matt smiths sidewinder. It took no time getting used to and was no harder than changing between a normal car and a 2cv.

Has indeed been beaten with the fugly stick Its also a shame about the headlights, they really do make it look like a frog when building a sidewinder, is it not possible to put the extra metal in forward of the front bulkhead, rather than extend the bonnet?

I think sidewinders look best with dyane shells, to avoid the bizarre nose. The best 2cv 4pot conversion I've seen was the 007 one in the conservatoire, no stretched bonnet and roll cage triangulating the front of the chassis. That thing is all kinds of hideous on many levels, I can put up with the front end, it's that paint job I'm unsure of... Wish I had the money kicking about......

Having never sat in a 2cv with a floor shift, what's it like? Is there actually enough room for it between driver and passenger's legs, or do you keep banging your knees on it?
Also what's going on with that sidewinder's speedo? It looks like one of those modern iphone things.

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
My 'not as good as it should be' french interprets that as; He's looking for the person who bought this van from him, maybe about 25 years ago, or maybe who is about 25 years old, and he'd like them to contact him. Perhaps it's obvious to a frenchman but seems very vague to me.

Russell, i totally agree with you there, but also remember Pete Sparrow's D*lly! that didnt look 1 bit out of place or stretched!!! not sure about Petes, but i know with the 007 it was a standard 2cv gearbox moved back quite abit and mated to the 1015, wheras this is a gsa gearbox and engine, not as much room to go back, but if it had gone back a little further they could have kept the headlamp bar but chopped the bottom and mounted it on the wings! also like the 007!
