Take dash put, remove warning bulb?

If you remove the bulb, it's then missing and won't show(work) when the ignition is turned on.....FAIL!

No steering lock, in fact you can start both my car and van with a screwdriver....in truth you turn the red switch and press the extra button.....

....every time I take my car for an MOT I leave a set of instructions .....normally on a Cornflakes packet.....bugger....he understands it less than I do ! I think he justs wants it out of the way !

Who would actually know about 2cvs having a steering lock? I aint gonna put one on, I'll just tell them it was an optional extra, taking bulbs that flash up out would probably be a solution, because then the warning light wouldnt be on, and they aint gonna go looking. will have to swap my doors though.

LL, in modern cars with ABS,ESP, etc, all those systems have warning lights on dash to let the driver know there is an issue with that particular system, when the ignition is turned on all the warning lamps light up to let the driver know the system is activated, but they'll go out once engine is running (unless there is a problem with given circuit/system), by removing the bulb for that system (ABS for example), it obviously won't show, so it'll fail. Simple. :-)

What year is your Defender mate? Even something simple like a handbrake warning lamp may come under the new rules (not entirely sure though).

Guess what stopped working on my van this morning? A week before its MOT test and the bastard handbrake light doesn't work properly. Magic. This has really upset me.
