driving a 2cv is always fun but driving in a principle becomes boring

 Errr no .... ;)
I guess I do about about 4k per year in the 2CV ......[and about the same in my C4] .....and about 4k on my [various] bikes too .....its all enjoyable.
I'll never tire of driving/riding ...... [btw ....been biking for 45 years, driving for 38 years .....and I hate going anywhere in wifeys Daewoo .....when she says "I'll drive" .... :( ]

Post Re: Mileage
I've done a bit over 10,000 miles in the 6 1/2 years I've had my car, . 2,000 of those were to Czech and back, both legs of which were solid stints!

That's despite the fact it's been my only car for the last couple of years, I live in a small town, walk to work, and don't get out much,  .

Admittedly I have the bike as well, but I've put less than 8,000 miles on that in 9 years. It's ironic really, for someone that spends most of his time playing with vehicles, I've rarely got anywhere to go.

Post Re: Mileage
Interesting. I've been doing between 40k and 60k miles a year for the last 5 years, I didn't really consider that a high mileage at all , but it looks like it's relatively high compared to everybody else. I wonder if there's a correlation between a 'high' mileage and an unreliable car. I did 60k in my old ami in about 12 months and it only suffered two fairly minor breakdowns. I've only done 20k in my red 2cv and the bloody thing has started to fall apart. It's not even that old, so maybe it's just coincidental?

Done just under 700 miles in two weeks and I'm on a 4500 p/a limit. If I keep that up it'll be about 18000 a year then if my sumz iz correct.

2cv: ±17000 km a year
Ami: limited to 7500, but already reached that after 5 months.. Luckily the speedo cable broke ;)

That's because the Ami is built to a far higher standard than any late model 2CV. That's why I bought it ... ;)
40-60 000 miles a year is a lot in anyone's book though.

I don't really see it like that though. Our works sprinter had done 180k when I started there which was a month or so after I put my 2cv on the road. It did 30k with no maintenance and was still running fine when we chopped it in last week. my 2cv's been serviced 3 times in that time, it's done 10k less than the van and had only done 60k before I bought it!
