I agree with taking all documentation, just covers yourself for when you do get stopped. A crazy situation that has arisen with very modern cars(so frankly doesn't apply to us, but I'm mentioning it anyway

)is the difficulty with quite a lot of them, as regards the changing of bulbs, especially with front bulbs(headlamp/indicators), how the hell you're supposed to do that on the side of the road, and at night, is beyond my understanding. Some dealers quote an hour or longer, to change a bulb, with all the facilities at their disposal
Moral to this story, don't drive anything built since 2000, in Europe.
