Orga numbers and AM number??

 Orga numbers and AM number?? Hey Folks, Don't know if it's been asked before and I've done a search and found now't, but... I've been searching my Orga number and its 4250 ( 28th June '88) but I'm a touch confused about the AM code/number...I thought it was a Year of manufacture code but it is stamped AM 89 on my bulkhead ??? I've noticed some other 2cv's with '88 Orga numbers and 89 AM codes, but I don't get it. If it isn't the year code, then what is it???  I'm sure it's obvious but I await your learned option/answers  Thanks

Re: Orga numbers and AM number?? I would expect an AM 89 car to be built from about September/October of '88, so it's a bit confusing to see a June build date.

Re: Orga numbers and AM number?? I think the new Model Year is normally available from about September, so built in the summer would sound about right to me.
