Washed it! Poor thing has spent the winter flying along covered in salt spray. I expected more corrosion generally but no. I did spray it thoroughly with WD40 before winter though, a couple times. The undersides, rain channels and all those sorts of places.

I had to leave my old one in my friends field in Devon for about 3 years once before I rescued it. I saw it sometimes and always went to spray the underneath with WD40. The sill areas and other generally vulnerable bits. Did seem to keep it good.

I changed the oil. That was pretty much it!

I've gone to 20/50 for the summer.

I woke up dreaming I was doing some work on an engine!

Thats more than I've done for a while ...

Took advantage of the pouring rain, and gave it a good wash. It does make you look like the neighbourhood eccentric person, but it gets it nice and clean.

It's better to wash it when wet, as it softens the dirt on it and it's less scratchy. Detergent also lubricates the dirt.

So true Roger. I look after a fleet of wedding cars and I do sometimes use the rain a bit on those too. They come up nicely that way.

If you drive a 2cv you are the excentric person of the neighbourhood... ;-)
