In the '50 Dutch army trucks from DAf (YA328) had the frontarms like you do, it works perfect!! You can make smaller turns doing it this way but it gives a lot of stress at you're chassis, but I think the barbour 4x4 chassis can handle it (little advertisment here!!).

I am thinking almost the same about you're extra tranferbox only making it from 2cv gearboxes and standard configuration (engine in the front)

I did a quick drawing how I want to do it (at least in my (small) brain)

I think you 4x4 gurus know what I mean!!!!!!!!!

p.s. I don't like engines in the rear of a car going uphill front wheels are spinning backwheels are digging!!! But I dont need to mention that to you....

Hi Lpgo,
Have been collecting parts and ideas for "years", project has been stop/start. Your 4x4 (re) born has inspired me.
Trailing front arms, lot of work but give better options for prop shaft etc and have put extra bracing in chassis at the front. Engine near the back as no room in the front. Plan to make the car "legal" on the road with 2CV engine.
Have seen 2x2cv boxes used to make a low ratio set up, however they dont seem to be able to take the torque in low ratio, thats why I got a SJ410 (suzuki) only 21kg and easy to get here in the uk.
Keep up the good work.
Peter

Totaly agree with you, on this one....... (but in my mind I always want to use Citroen (2cv) parts as much as possible but hey that's my problem not yours....)

My project is on a hold for now I want to do Airsprings/schock/cylinders
but I can't make a choice and $$$$$ is holding me back.......Maybee an idea
for you too (airsprings)

The options are many...I have to resist some ideas and get the car working, like you is been in my head for years. Air suspension or maybe Citroen GS/BX/Xantia/C5...
