found your Sahara thread on this site but there is not really a photo of the gearshift operation, where would I find it please? Thank you. Soon i will take the shifter to its pieces for painting. Then i will make detailed photographs and film how it works inside.

Working on the gearbox. The rod clampbolts on the selector have a special model. To unscrew them, you need a special tool. This is a very expensive tool, so i made a cheap tool from a lever of a valve of the gasbottle. A little welding and it is possible to untight and tight the bolt to its torque with a torquewrench.

working on the 4x4 gearbox. The rods need to be longer, so in the rods is tapered 8mm thread and 2cm inside. New rods M8 are made and now the gearbox can shift with the new selector. Only a seal is to be made. Attachment:

In the UK Myford, Boxford, Harrison go for upwards of £1500. Need to be very careful when moving, most are top heavy, badly done the bed can twist. see http://www.lathes.co.uk/I have a Harrison L140 (onloan!) with Inverter to run it. The lathe is good size for car parts.
