The dates clash is indeed a most grievous calamity Lobster. Bum Hats of Stetsonesque proportions. However, were I to toss one* right now, it would land in the Ring of Snetterton. In fact, consider it tossed.
* hat that is!

Great idea, but I'm wondering how much camping space is left at Snetterton, having just found this picture on the 2CV Racing Club's site... http://www.2cvracing.org.uk/images/stories/new-snet.jpgken

If you wanted 2CVGB funding, I'd suggest that the easiest way forward is for a bunch of 2CVGB members to propose to organise it, as a type of mini-National, come up with a plan/proposed P&L and put it to the Committee, just as you would for organising a National..? The other idea so far mooted is to jazz-up Registers up a bit next year. Obviously, there's nothing to stop anyone organising an event and approaching 2CVGB for sponsorship, just as ICCCR did, but doing it under the umbrella of 2CVGB would give you public liability insurance, a bunch of experienced volunteers to help (I suspect!) plus the peace of mind knowing the Club would underwrite any losses, so no one has to sell their A Series to pay any debts incurred. I've no idea what the Committe would say to either option, but there is a genuine desire to bridge this perceived 'generation gap' that seems to be growing wider by the day, and a new, hardcore/technical/party-hard event on the calendar might be one way to go about it. (Just my humble opinion - not speaking for the Committee here, of course). [Edit: that's assuming you had more in mind than merely raising awareness of the existing 24h event, of course].

 Re: 2011 24hr Snetterton
Ah...! good for the racing not so good for the camping. obviously this year is out, next is possible as there is no International as its the iccccccccccccr, so something could be proposed as 2cv specific large gathering a "Not the International " as for "cap in hand" pah! 2cvgb is our club we can ask it to do what we want Racing club wont have a problem. Circut may be more of an issue as bank holiday race weekend is usually a pretty full one and having beirdy weirdys wandering all over a race circut outfield with their tie dye Ts and sandals may not be to the liking. but the main problem is BARC who seem to organise their calender like an 80s rave in a field....it might be then ....it might be some other time..dates will be confirmed later. personally id make a few quiet enquiries to the circut as to the feasibility/safety. That would be the first step.
